Golden, CO (PRWEB) October 20, 2010
The West Metropolitan Lodge 18 of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), representing the majority of the Deputy Sheriff's at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, announced today that it is endorsing Kathy Hartman (http://www.kathyhartman.org) for Jefferson County Commissioner.
In their endorsement letter, the FOP said, “Commissioner Hartman's record speaks for itself and is aligned with the issues that concern the men and women of law enforcement and the Fraternal Order of Police. We have met with Kathy Hartman on a number of occasions and her honesty and leadership in serving the citizens of Jefferson County is apparent. Commissioner Hartman is of strong character and she has no fear in accepting responsibility for her decisions and the decisions of the other board members.”
“I am honored and humbled by the endorsement of these incredible public servants,” Hartman commented. “These are the men and women who run towards trouble, whether it is a live shooter at Platte Canyon High School, a suicidal citizen with a gun, or an armed and dangerous suspect at large in our community. After two years of difficult budgets and salary freezes, that they would endorse a Commissioner who has continued to ask them to sacrifice for our citizens is a testament to their commitment to public service. I am proud to serve with them.”
West Metropolitan lodge 18's endorsement is also supported by the Colorado State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. The Colorado State Lodge represents over 5,000 of Colorado's finest active and retired professional law enforcement officers. The National Fraternal Order of Police is the largest organization of law enforcement officers in the nation with over 325,000 members nationwide.
Hartman has also been endorsed by the Mile High Newspapers (Lakewood Sentinel, Arvada Press, Golden Transcript, and Wheat Ridge Sentinel), the Jefferson County Association of Realtors, and the Metro Home Builders. She has also been endorsed by more than 30 locally elected officials from both parties.
