"In 2008, the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals Hospital Program designed a goal to reduce the likelihood of patient harm associated with the use of anticoagulation therapy. Patient safety is a top priority for our hospital customers, and we're excited to present DoseResponse® as a proven model for effective anticoagulation management, " said Jason Kilgour, President and CEO of MedKeeper. " Together with our other solutions, DoseResponse® strengthens our commitment to provide indispensable clinical and workflow pharmacy tools."
DoseResponse® is a proprietary (patent-pending) software application designed to assist in the management of anticoagulation clinics at physicians offices, hospitals and health systems. DoseResponse® is a sophisticated yet intuitive, web-based application designed to help providers deliver superior care for patients on anticoagulation treatment regimens by reducing the potential for human error. In one instance, DoseResponse® was used to manage the dosing of 1,200 patients in 5 locations with one clinician while maintaining a Time in Therapeutic Range (TTR) over 80%.
In addition DoseResponse® Clinic combines the DoseResponse® centralized application with clinical pharmacists employed by MedKeeper to manage warfarin patients according to existing protocols. Since its inception in 2002, DoseResponse® Clinic has maintained a Time in Therapeutic Range ( TTR) of oevr 82%, and has operated at a fraction of the cost of traditional anticoagulation clinics.
"MedKeeper shares our passion for pharmacy and clinical excellence, and we feel confident that they are well-positioned to build on their past success with DoseResponse®, " said Dr. Philip Keys, President of Keystone Therapeutics based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. " In response to the growing market for anticoagulation services, healthcare providers are increasingly turning to proven products like DoseResponse ®, because established anticoagulation clinics have been proven to be more effective than routine management which is often burdened by high overhead costs."
