ZocDoc (, the website to find physicians and book appointments online instantly, now makes finding a doctor even easier with the launch of the new ZocDoc iPhone app. Launching earlier this month, the iPhone app quickly skyrocketed to become one of the top 15 most downloaded apps for Healthcare and Fitness. This marks the company’s expansion to the mobile market in an aggressive national launch that has already been a huge success in Dallas, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

The free ZocDoc iPhone App gives users access to over 1.5 million doctor appointments instantly from their iPhone, iPad, and IPod Touch. Real-time appointments are available with primary care physicians and dentists as well as specialists such as dermatologists, orthopedic surgeons, allergists and psychologists.

Users can not only find doctors who accept their insurance, but can also book appointments and read reviews from other ZocDoc users. In addition, the iPhone App enables users to identify the doctors with availability who are geographically closest to them.

Currently, the ZocDoc App is available only for the iPhone; however, ZocDoc has plans of branching out to additional mobile platforms.

ZocDoc was founded in 2007 by Cyrus Massoumi, Dr. Oliver Kharraz and Nick Ganju.

The company is funded by Khosla Ventures, Founders Fund, Bezos Expeditions, the investment vehicle of Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos, and founder Marc Benioff.
