Ear Acupuncture Clinic Offers Free Acupuncture on Wednesday, October 27 and November 3, 2010

Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, the leading national graduate school for Oriental medicine education, today announced that its Ear Acupuncture Clinic will provide free acupuncture treatments in celebration of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) Day, celebrated annually on October 24.

Emperor’s Ear Acupuncture Clinic will offer free ear acupuncture on Wednesday, October 27, and Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 12:45 to 4:30pm. Appointments are on a walk-in basis only. Treatments will last 20 to 25 minutes.

AOM Day was created to raise awareness of the benefits of acupuncture, an effective form of medicine with a 3,000 year history. Emperor’s exclusive event of free ear acupuncture allows patients to experience for themselves how effective ear acupuncture treatments can be. Ear acupuncture treatments are unique and differ slightly from a typical acupuncture treatment. In addition to using acupuncture points located solely on the ear, ear acupuncture is an effective and fast treatment for pain reduction, addiction and weight loss support, stress, insomnia, headaches and PMS. It is also a great option for patients seeking additional care between regular acupuncture appointments. Because of abbreviated diagnostic methods, appointment length is significantly reduced to about 20 to 25 minutes.

Emperor’s College successfully launched its Ear Acupuncture Clinic in July 2010. This new clinical rotation has provided master’s interns an opportunity to receive additional training in ear acupuncture, also referred to as auricular acupuncture. Clinic patients and community members can take advantage of the low-cost acupuncture services at Emperor’s Ear Acupuncture Clinic. Emperor’s ear acupuncture treatments are offered every Wednesday afternoon for $15 per treatment. AOM Day celebrations and events like the one at Emperor’s College will take place around October 24 throughout the nation. Spearheaded by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), AOM Day is designed to educate the public about the benefits, progress, and promise of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
