Educators spent more than $1.3 billion out-of-pocket on school supplies during the last school year

According to a recent survey published by the National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA), educators reported spending an average of $936 on supplies and resource materials for their classrooms during the 2009-2010 school year.
