Nestled between the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia is just an hour’s drive from the Washington/Baltimore metro area. A select group of 26 talented, professional artisans invite you to over 11 different studios for the 21st annual Over the Mountain Studio Tour, Nov. 13 & 14, 2010.

"The Over the Mountain Studio Tour has a long-standing tradition in Jefferson County for offering an alternative to the traditional arts and crafts shows. We give visitors an opportunity to get out in the country and see where and how we live and work and what we produce to sustain our humble lifestyles. This tour is a win-win for both visitors and artisans!" Anne Bowers, artist/ basket maker, said.

What could you expect to see when you attend the studio tour? Juried art and craftwork that is unusual in quality - some of the best that West Virginia has to offer! Appreciate the strength and simplicity of hand-wrought iron, the feel of hand-hewn wooden bowls or the wearable beauty of silver jewelry. Feel indulged as you visit the artisans’ studios. Enjoy our hospitality and let us show you the labor of our hands.

Cash or checks are welcome at all tour stops - some artisans will accept credit cards. Register for the door prize at each stop!
