Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 26, 2010
Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company is partnering with EquipNet to auction off confectionery processing and packaging equipment surplus to their ongoing operations in Chicago. The leading provider of live and webcast equipment auctions for the consumer processing and packaging industry, EquipNet is hosting a webcast auction beginning at 11:00AM (CT) on Thursday, November 4. The event comes immediately on the heels of PackExpo, the largest packaging show in North America being held in Chicago October 31 - November 3, 2010 and show attendees will have an opportunity to bid from the EquipNet hospitality suite.

PackExpo attendees are invited to visit EquipNet's booth (#5705) in the Lakeside Building at McCormick Place during the show to pick up an auction catalog and register for the event. Shuttles will be available twice daily to transport potential buyers from the PackExpo conference to the Wrigley site to inspect items offered in the auction catalog. On the day of the auction, November 4, EquipNet is hosting a hospitality suite at the Hotel Felix with an open invitation to those remaining in Chicago to come and enjoy food and drink while they bid on Wrigley assets.
The Wrigley auction catalog includes a wide array of premium, pre-owned confectionery processing and packaging equipment. Featured assets are: a Proform Cooling Tunnel; a Ruffinatti Cooling Wheel with Base; a Custom Built Gum Slitter-Wrapper for Individual Slices; an MAFO Industrial Washer & Dryer with U Shaped Conveyor; and more.
EquipNet’s Managing Director of Consumer Processing and Packaging Sales, Perry Elliot, is excited about the setting for this particular auction. “PackExpo is one of the most important shows for this industry where attendees can network with colleagues and get information about new technologies,” says Elliot. “This event gives these packaging professionals the opportunity to save thousands of dollars and return home with quality, pre-owned equipment rather than just a hefty bill for buying new items and then have to wait months for delivery.”
Wrigley’s Engineering Technology Manager, Pam Davies, is impressed by EquipNet’s strategy for selling the assets the company has identified as surplus to ongoing operations. “EquipNet’s plan to hold the auction right after PackExpo is going to help us reach potential buyers directly,” explains Davies. “Finding buyers quickly will help us meet our deadline for clearing out the facility.”
EquipNet is a leading provider of proactive asset management solutions and services to leading corporations in the biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical, and consumer packaged goods industries, such as Merck, Novartis, Unilever and many others.
