Bikini Week is partnering with San Diego-based j.simms agency to expand to seven markets: Las Vegas; South Padre Island, Texas; Fort Lauderdale and South Beach, Florida; Lake Havasu and Palm Springs, Calif.

Bikini Week, including five days of runway shows, bikini contests, pool parties and nightclub events for the fashion world, is partnering with j. simms agency of San Diego to expand its event to seven markets.

The Bikini Week Tour, produced by ASC Events of San Diego, will be held in the spring of 2011 in Las Vegas; South Padre Island, Texas; Fort Lauderdale and South Beach, Florida; San Diego, Lake Havasu and Palm Springs, Calif.

j.simms agency will be marketing the series to national partners and implementing sponsor activation programs.

Bikini Week began as a California event that showcased local and international designs and seaside San Diego venues. The competition’s success over the past two years led partners to demand a national series.

In 2011 the event will showcase the latest swimwear fashion designs in seven spring break party destinations with a culminating final competition in San Diego. This new, globally focused series is designed to feature a mix of emerging and established brands and is aimed at providing a platform for local, national and international talent.

“Bikini Week, celebrating the art and lifestyle of swimwear, took San Diego by storm over the past two summers,” said Michael Lee, creator of Bikini Week. “We are looking forward to expanding Bikini Week into these new markets, where bikinis are de rigeur.”

Bikini Week is a platform for hopeful talent including designers, models, photographers, stylists and body painters. The week-long series of fashion events includes several runway shows.

Top swimwear designers showcase their newest styles on aspiring and professional models in nightlife venues, luxury hotels and poolside. The runway shows are followed by after parties with surprise celebrity guests and premiere musical talent. All these activities are going to be implemented in every Bikini Week market throughout March and May.

Bikini Week was created by entrepreneur Michael Lee in the spring of 2009 when he was asked to produce a fashion show for a bikini line from Long Beach, Calif.
