I Survived Traveling and Living in the Middle East for Five Years, a new book by Mary Margaret Johnson, has been released by RoseDog Books.
In 2000, Mary Margaret Johnson decided to travel to the Middle East, Northeast, and South Asia. Johnson thought it would be an interesting adventure, something different, and she would get to see places she would never see in her lifetime. As Johnson moved from country to country, she tried to tell about the country, how the people dressed and the weather conditions, and much more interesting things in each place she went. Her first stop was Abu Dhabi, UAE, which she dearly loved, but before she knew it September 11th came and changed our world. She wrote a letter from every place she stopped.
From Abu Dhabi, Johnson went to Algiers, Algeria to Beirut, Lebanon to Karachi, Pakistan to Muscat, Oman to Islamabad, Pakistan to Rabat, Morocco and Kabul, Afghanistan. She went back to Muscat, Oman to Jerusalem, Israel to Cyprus again to Algiers, Algeria to Mumbai, India, and Baghdad, Iraq. From there Johnson went to Muscat, Oman again, Doha, Qatar to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Beirut, Lebanon, and finally Gulf Breeze, Florida, Washington, D.C., and Gulf Breeze.
Mary Margaret Johnson is a mother and grandmother, and she live in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Besides taking care of her house and her son, her two oldest grandchildren live with her as well. She loves flowers and tends to them on a daily basis, and she water the plants and her garden daily.
Johnson was born and raised in Minneapolis and moved to Gulf Breeze in 1965, so she calls it her home. She loves to travel, hence the book, and she must admit she has traveled most of the U.S. and now the Middle East, Northeast, and South Asia. She hopes you enjoy this book. There is unfortunately no more traveling now, as Johnson has retired.
