DUI/DWI Arrest Survival Guide: The Guilt Myth
Manassas, Virginia (PRWEB) October 25, 2010
T. Kevin Wilson, founding partner of The Wilson Law Firm, a Manassas, Va.-based firm that defends clients accused of DUI / DWI, Reckless Driving or other criminal offenses throughout Virginia, recently completed the latest continuing education course from the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD).
The course, which was co-sponsored by the NCDD and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), addressed a wide range of DUI / DWI defense techniques and strategies. Wilson's commitment to staying on the leading edge of the profession has distinguished himself from other lawyers for years.
"This course covered important topics such as the science behind breath alcohol testing in general, as well as the operational theories of specific breath testing machines, including Virginia's new DUI / DWI breath testing machine - the ECIR II - and the numerous possibilities for error that exist," explained Wilson, who has been a leading advocate for people charged with DUI / DWI, Reckless Driving and other criminal offenses since 1995. "I also learned some important new information about the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and what it takes to make them valid. This type of continuing legal education is an absolute necessity because it enables me to zealously represent the interests of my clients, armed with the most current information and defense strategies."
Wilson is also the co-author of "DUI/DWI Arrest Survival Guide: The Guilt Myth," published by Word Association Publishers. Free copies of the book are available for a limited time to visitors at his DUI defense Web site.
As a DUI / DWI, Criminal and Traffic defense lawyer, Wilson has extensive experience dealing with Virginia's criminal and traffic laws. In addition to his law practice, Wilson served for more than a decade as a legal instructor at the Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy, where he taught various classes including Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law and Evidence to police officers in training. He is also certified as an Operator of various breath alcohol testing machines including the Intoxilyzer 5000, S-D2, S-D5 and 400, and the newer Intoxilyzer 8000. Wilson has even purchased two Intoxilyzer 5000 breath testing machines and several portable breath test (PBT) devices to further his knowledge about them.
