Shelton, CT (PRWEB) October 24, 2010
Lex Products, a leading U.S. manufacturer of power distribution and control products for Entertainment, Military and Industrial markets, announced today the move of its corporate headquarters to Shelton, Connecticut. Previously situated in Stamford, CT, Lex has now consolidated its three Connecticut offices into one building, creating greater efficiencies with the entire Lex team under the same roof. This consolidation does not impact the operations of the Lex West manufacturing and distribution facility in Sun Valley, CA.
The expansion is the second in the last three years to accommodate Lex’s rapid growth. The new facility provides the infrastructure that will allow Lex to continue providing the best service to its customers. The new facility entails 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 24,000 square feet of office space for a total of 54,000 square feet. Lex expects further expansion in the future and designed the new facility to accommodate further growth of over 30,000 square feet.
As a part of the relocation, LEX has added new functionality in the areas of quality and product development with a new lab space dedicated to research and development as well as dedicated test area for existing and new products. They have also made additional investments in new technologies such as 5-axis routing. This allows Manufacturing to go directly from engineered 3D CAD models to automated production. LEX partnered with leading manufacturing systems companies such as Dur-a-Flex a floor system providing anti-slip and impact resistant floor coverings, UNARCO for warehouse racking and Raymond for material handling equipment.
Lex has created an environment that promotes creativity and collaboration with teamwork as its main focus. Office areas have been designed to include numerous “collaboration spaces” for open discussion and brainstorming. There are several meeting rooms, break rooms, and a state of the art training center for internal and external training sessions and presentations. An open floor plan filled with natural light, promotes impromptu conversations.
There are plans to provide employees with a work-life balance plan. The Lex facility is located in a wooded area great for nature walks and general exercise.
Bob Luther, CEO, says “The bottom line is that this new world class facility will allow us to serve our customers better by providing top quality products in the most efficient manner. We look forward to greeting, hosting and training customers and partners in our new facility.”
