Bidformaterials.com turns 1 year old

BidForMaterials.com, the only website in the world directly connecting contractors and suppliers, is turning one. They are proud to have accomplished so much in only a year and are excited to celebrate their first Anniversary.

During the past year, http://www.bidformaterials.com has overcome many of the growing pains of a startup company that later lead to outstanding achievements. The company started with an idea of how they can help the construction world, and now has been referred to as the must have membership in the industry.

Frederick Cann founder and president states, “Some of the experiences and travels have led to opportunities like no other.” From ground breaking ceremonies with major developers like Thermo King, to interviews with editors from major publications like Hanley Wood and McGraw Hill, to radio interviews: these are just a few of the publically broadcasted achievements we have had the chance to be involved with. Traveling from trade show to trade show, exhibiting in major trade shows nationwide like IBS 2010, PCBC, and the Deck & Remodeling show, we have had the pleasure of connecting with possible affiliates and investors. The feedback we received has left the company with no less than 100 percent confidence that this endeavor is a necessary one for the industry. A few of the travels lead to wonderful discussions which turned into great goals. The most recent one of all is the ability to give back to those in need.

In June, the website started working closely with such charitable foundations as the award-winning television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Building Hope for Long Island, as well as numerous other worthy causes. It has been a long time dream of theirs to be able to help those less fortunate and they have been able to do so by finding suppliers and contractors willing to give materials, services, and monetary donations. In one case donations exceeded $10,000 in materials and in another over 40 different companies offered to donate. They will go on to continue their charitable work and hope to bring more good will to others in the future.

The free membership entitles contractors and suppliers to exchange material lists for real time quotes. During the past year from popular comment, the industry claimed they needed an all-in-one tool for the construction professional. The industry has many resources to communicate their needs, however there is no resource that has it all under one roof. So now we are proud to introduce the newest features of the site. Along with the valuable tool of material pricing for contractors and obtaining leads for suppliers, all construction related professionals have the ability to communicate with each other through our email system, have discussions in formal forums, learn about trends, watch webinars, find local trade associations, educate themselves on new techniques, read publications, contribute to local events, obtain building permits, create calendar of events, and related documents just to name a few.

Testimonials coming in daily from roofing contractors to lumber suppliers have been no less then positive. One roofing contractor said that, “If I can save 1% on the 18,000 square’s of roofing per year that will place $25,000 back in my pocket.” The Lumber supplier claimed to land an account that generated an extra $150,000 in business per year. These numbers multiplied over the millions of contractors and suppliers nationwide will result in new jobs and opportunities. The understanding at the Bidformaterials office in Yaphank, NY is that, “This site will be the resource to gauge industry spending,” Cann says.

Our goal for the next year is to expand on the thousands of members already registered on the website. Continue to add content, provide the ability for all consumers of construction materials to use this system, and give members a reason to visit daily. The belief is that in due time, BidForMaterials.com will be the first stop in the daily activity in which every construction professional will start and end their day.
