"Our goal is to share with AIA Minnesota convention attendees the new marketing direction we have taken as a firm and the bottom-line results it has generated via new and ongoing projects," said Larry Paschall, Principal, HPD Architecture LLC

HPD Architecture LLC, a full-service architectural and interior design firm specializing in residential, commercial, and institutional architecture, announces that the firm’s Laura Davis, AIA, IFDA, and Larry Paschall, AIA, will present “Taking Your Marketing Off-Road” at the 2010 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Minnesota Annual Convention and Product Exposition, November 2-5 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. HPD Architecture’s presentation, co-sponsored by the AIA Practice Management Knowledge Community, will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 10:15-11:30 AM.

“Taking Your Marketing Off-Road” explores the increasingly competitive and noisy environment architects currently face and the need to be proactive and promote their own “brands.” Ms. Davis, Director of Marketing and Principal, and Mr. Paschall, Project Architect and Principal, will share their firm’s experience during the past two and a half years in using alternate marketing to reach current and potential clientele. Attendees will learn about networking ideas to create new referral sources; how to become subject-matter experts in their respected specialties; and derive the short-and long-term benefits of using online communication tools.

“Laura and I are thrilled to be speaking about such a timely topic at this year’s AIA Minnesota Convention,” said Mr. Paschall. “Our goal is to share with attendees the new marketing direction that we have taken as a firm and the bottom-line results it has generated via new and ongoing projects.”

“We want attendees to be aware of diversified marketing tools and potential branding opportunities to implement with their own firms,” added Ms. Davis.

Over 1,500 people are projected to attend the 76th Annual AIA Minnesota Convention. 1,100 will be attending the programs and exhibitions, while another 400 will visit the exhibit hall, which hosts over 200 companies as well as a variety of exhibits.

The convention with this year’s theme, Beyond Convention, takes the research AIA Minnesota has done in the past year, including an assessment of firm workflow, structure, outsourcing, key markets, skill sets, technology and more; and paints an accurate understanding of where the profession is at today. The convention will explore ways in which architects may respond to the current economic climate in an informed, collective and positive way to remain relevant and find new growth and opportunities for their profession.
