Hyde House Arts stands above the rest in this annual competition

Colorado Springs fine artist, Rebecca Hyde, wins Best Local Artist from the Colorado Springs Independent's Best of Awards. After nearly 8,200 people voting in various categories, winners were announced in the October 21st edition of the Independent.

Rebecca Hyde, originally from Southern California, formed Hyde House Art (http://www.hydehouseart.com) after completing her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1990. Hyde House Art includes various media including 2D, 3D, mixed media, glass, clay and photography.

"In my pursuits of conveying themes such as suffering, dichotomies, passion, relationships and hope," said Rebecca Hyde, "I do not restrict myself to one medium."

Portions of Rebecca Hyde's work have been chosen for display at East Library in Colorado Springs. In addition, Imagination Celebration in Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs, will be displaying some of Hyde's collections from November 1st - November 21st 2010. These pieces will include her "book series" and various clay creations.

The artist is represented by Toby Lorenc of Lorenc Consulting and Entertainment, based in Colorado Springs, CO. Lorenc noted, "This is truly a chance for an amazingly creative artist to get the recognition she deserves in the local community."
