Intelligent-robotics-software developer Agile Planet, Inc. (http://www.agileplanet.com), has appointed Greg Presley as the vice president of sales and marketing. Presley will lead all sales and marketing efforts including the commercial launch of RLX™, the only integrated control solution that delivers embedded robot control for all robot geometries on a programmable logic controller (PLC).
For two decades, Presley has worked with various global manufacturers to improve their results by launching disruptive software solutions that address efficiency, quality, and time to market. His success demonstrates a rare mix of marketing and technical savvy along with the ability to align product development with customer needs. “Greg’s background and successful track record make him the ideal person to lead our sales and marketing efforts,” said Chetan Kapoor, CEO of Agile Planet.
Agile Planet’s RLX™ software is a PLC integrated robot control solution that enables the PLC to become a fully featured robot application development, simulation, and control environment for all robot geometries. RLX™ is built on Kinematix™ (http://www.agileplanet.com/technology/kinematix), Agile Planet’s proprietary intelligent motion-planning software that has been used in groundbreaking robotics solutions for medical, aerospace and industrial applications.
“I’m convinced we are in a unique position to deliver value across the robotics space,” said Presley. “Our initial RLX™ system will support the Rockwell Automation (http://www.rockwellautomation.com) ControlLogix programmable automation controller (PAC) and robot arms from Yaskawa Motoman (http://www.motoman.com). This solution demonstrates how we can leverage our considerable depth of knowledge and execute in a manner that satisfies the demanding requirements of industry: better, faster, cheaper.”
Presley started his career in factory automation in Detroit and quickly moved into leadership roles in sales and marketing that spanned across three continents. Prior to joining Agile Planet, he worked for Applied Materials, Brooks Automation, and KLA-Tencor. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Tennessee Technological University and an Executive MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
