Berjé Inc., a global distributor of essential oils and aromatic chemicals with over 60 years of experience supplying the flavor, fragrance, pharmaceutical and allied trades, announces its acquisition of Polarome International's worldwide Cedarwood Oil Business.

This significant acquisition will enhance Berjé's ability to meet customers' needs for these strategic natural and naturally derived products, while improving the company's competitive business edge and expanding its international reach.

The major volume of Cedarwood Oil is produced in the United States--Texas Type (Juniperus Mexicana), Virginia Type (Juniperus Virginiana)--and in China (Cupressus funebris). These oils and components produced from them are widely used in fragrance formulations.

Polarome, based in Jersey City, N.J., distributes flavor and fragrance materials.
