Transpera, the leading mobile video ad network, and Slacker Inc., a leading provider of highly personalized digital radio, today announced a partnership to integrate Transpera’s mobile video ad network into the Slacker Radio portfolio of mobile apps. The integration marks the first time a streaming mobile music application is utilizing interactive video advertising to help brand advertisers reach the mobile music audience.

“Mobile represents the only medium where brand advertisers can reach consumers through a full screen, interactive video advertisement that demands their undivided attention,” said Anshu Dua, vice president of business development, Transpera. “We’re thrilled to partner with Slacker to provide a high value, engaging and relevant ad experience for their audience of music lovers.”

Transpera’s proprietary technology is created specifically for the nuances of mobile, with video ads that load without any buffering and are optimized for the particular mobile device and network bandwidth available, creating a superior, high quality video ad experience for Slacker’s mobile consumers. Ads download seamlessly in the background without any degradation of the music listening experience. Simultaneously, Transpera’s ad-units provide brand advertisers and consumers interactivity options that are specifically designed with the mobile consumer in mind, including click to call or click to locate.

“Our partnership with Transpera allows us to integrate targeted video ads that function seamlessly within our mobile apps,” said Jonathan Sasse, senior vice president of marketing, Slacker. “Transpera’s technology enables us to generate high CPMs while ensuring a consistently high-quality listening and music discovery experience. The partnership enhances Slacker’s direct sales efforts by adding new, innovative ways for advertisers to reach and interact with Slacker’s audience.”

Through the partnership, mobile video ads will be placed in key non-obtrusive locations within the Slacker music listening experience, such as when the consumer requests a station change. In addition, Slacker will leverage Transpera’s platform targeting capabilities, including age, gender and music genres to provide increasingly relevant mobile video ads to Slacker listeners.
