The latest release of the network traffic analysis solution adds Mailinizer, a monitoring and reporting tool that gives Exchange and network administrators the ability to dig deeper into server activity. Additional updates include advanced filtering on any field exported in the template and a "Sphere" data view that helps quickly put scale in perspective for IP address communication.

Scrutinizer NetFlow & sFlow Analyzer is a tool that provides incredibly detailed network utilization information for the users and applications that are causing the most traffic. Using Cisco's NetFlow Technology (an IOS software feature found in an ever increasing number of switches and routers), Scrutinizer is able to retrieve the traffic details network professionals need and present them in a detailed graphical view.

Mailinizer, the new email monitoring and analysis tool from Plixer, offers deep insight into email server communications for Exchange and network administrators. Users benefit from a wide range of functions, from discovering the cause of bounce-backs and delayed emails to analyzing sales and marketing team initiatives to finding out which email strategies are most effective. Monitor the top email servers for ingoing and outgoing mail, find out when large attachments are slowing the network, and discover and delete rogue and nonexistent email addresses.

Like Scrutinizer, Mailinizer is highly customizable and easily searchable through more extensive filtering ability than any other product on the market. View emails sent from domain-domain, address-address or any combination in between, filter by well-known ports, or find email chains by subject. No matter which "include" or "exclude" filters are in place, exporting reports for analysis is simple.

Additional new features for Scrutinizer 8 include:

  • Advanced Filtering - Scrutinizer now has the ability to filter on any field within the template. This is important when leveraging Cisco's Flexible NetFlow technology which allows the exporting of layer 2 information such as MAC address, VLAN ID, and more. It also allows for application layer filtering via NetFlow NBAR (e.g. Skype) and traffic from specific domains (e.g. Facebook.com).
  • 3D "Sphere" View for Data - Visualize your NetFlow, sFlow, and mail server data in a new way. The new 3D "Sphere" view models data based on IP address to put scale in perspective quickly.
