Company recognized as emerging cleantech leader of tomorrow

Cavet Technologies Inc. today announced it is included in the preeminent Corporate Knights Next 10, a list representing Canada’s best privately held companies in the cleantech realm. Cavet Technologies was recognized for its innovation of LumiSmart ILC, an award-winning intelligent lighting controller and the company’s flagship product.

The Cleantech Next 10 Emerging Leaders are selected by an advisory panel of Canada’s foremost authorities on cleantech, based on the following four judging criteria: creativity and original approach, solving a business problem, clear business objective, and best chance of breaking through.

"We are thrilled that Cavet Technologies has received this recognition from such a prominent organization in the area of sustainable development," said Albert Behr, President and CEO for Cavet Technologies. “The companies that comprise the Next 10 include some of the most innovative solutions introduced in the cleantech industry. While we are proud to produce a product in Canada that serves the world, it is an honour to receive such recognition from our home territory.”

LumiSmart ILC is the first of a new class of Smart Grid-enabled lighting controllers that provide microprocessor-driven adaptive control of lighting circuits to reduce power consumption while providing an instant 30 per cent or more power reduction without replacing any existing lamps, ballasts or fixtures. LumiSmart ILC also helps reduce carbon emissions by actively reducing energy consumption at the source, and therefore minimizes strain on the electrical grid. This decrease in carbon footprint results in a reduction in greenhouses gases released into the atmosphere.
