Med Access users now able to electronically send complete patient data and requests to other health care providers

Kelowna, B.C. (PRWEB) October 29, 2010

Med Access announces launch of an exclusive e-Referral Network that allows Specialists, GPs, urgent care clinics, call groups, and allied health professionals to electronically forward any information in a patient’s chart directly to the next care provider where it becomes fully-operable information in that provider’s Med Access Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Health care providers have complete control over the scope of the patient information that they choose to send and receive.

“The e-Referral Network is a valuable tool to support better and more efficient communication between GPs and Specialists using Med Access EMR, relieving Specialists of the burden of establishing a new patient record for each new patient seen,” commented Paul Walker, President and CEO of Med Access. “Continuity of care and reliability of follow-up are significantly enhanced between all care providers. For example, family doctors can use the e-Referral Network to provide an update for a colleague’s patient seen at a walk-in clinic or when taking call for a call group.”

Adding extra value for customers of our comprehensive EMR, Med Access is now a leader in inter-clinic communication and is helping to establish a new benchmark for EMR communication and interoperability.
