Bioplex Nutrition, a manufacturer of high quality dietary supplements, including a variety of protein supplements, scored 98.7% on a recent third-party audit of its Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP’s) and Food Safety Systems. Under new Food and Drug Administration GMP requirements that became effective June 25, 2010, dietary supplement manufacturers must establish safety and quality standards, and operate their facilities in compliance with the new requirements. The Food Safety Systems test is better known as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) test and is an essential component in ensuring the safety of food, pharmaceutical and supplement products. The best way to demonstrate compliance is through a voluntary third-party audit.
Silliker, Inc., the leading network of accredited food testing and consulting laboratories, performed the successful audit at Bioplex in late August 2010. The Bioplex audit focused on several areas, including:
- Food Safety Systems (HACCP)
- Quality Systems
- Grounds, Building and Equipment
- Pest Control
- Employee Practices
- Receiving, Storage and Shipping
- Plant Sanitation
“Bioplex’s score of 98.7% on the audit proves our exceptional commitment to the safety and quality of our products,” says Michelle Kitchen, Bioplex President. “Our new state-of-the-art facility, our highly-trained employees and our documented systems allow us to produce supplement products of the highest quality and consistency.”
Bioplex Nutrition started manufacturing, packaging and wholesaling Whey Protein products in 1998, and moved into a new 16,000 square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility in Blaine, Washington in 2009. Bioplex Nutrition now offers a wide array of dietary supplements.
