Dublin Falcons Football and Cheer, a division of the highly competitive Delta Youth Football League (DYFL), will be creating a lot of cheer playing exciting football on Oct. 30, marking the Dublin Falcons Football and Cheer 2010 Annual Homecoming Games against the Ceres Cowboys. The games will be played at Dublin High School, announced Shana Trias, Dublin Falcons President. This is Dublin Falcons first return to Dublin High School Stadium since the school opened for the 2010 school year still under construction.
The Dublin Falcons squads play against 10 different teams during the course of the 10 week regular season. Teams compete to qualify for playoffs, Superbowl championships, All-Star and invitational competitions.
“We are very excited about our Homecoming games this year. All of our Dublin Falcons squads have been working extra hard to be competitive. During the Homecoming ceremonies, each member of each squad will be recognized for their contribution to Dublin Falcons,” said Trias. “And of course, each squad will select its King and Queen. Playing at Dublin High School is like icing on the cake.”
Mayor Tim Sbranti, a graduate from Dublin High school and former teacher, will announce the Varsity game for the Dublin Falcons. In addition, the half time show will include the announcement of the raffle ticket winners. Dublin Falcons have been selling Homecoming raffle tickets at $5.00 each to raise funds for new uniforms for next year’s squads. Prizes have been donated by local vendors, including 3rd prize $50.00 gift card from Dublin Target, 2nd prize $100 gift card from Connolly’s Fine Furniture and the Grand Prize is 50” Flat Screen TV donated by All Video Media Solutions located at 6465 Sierra Lane, Dublin, Ca.
To close the Homecoming Games festivities, Dublin Falcons will be having a Homecoming Dance Party at Wells Middle School, 6800 Penn Drive, Dublin, CA.
The Dublin Falcons games are schedule as: Jr. Novice game time is 10:00 am; Novice game time is 12:00pm; Jr. Varsity game time is 2:00 pm; and Varsity game time is 4:00 pm. Dublin Falcons encourage family, friends, and fans to attend the games.
The Dublin Falcons program was originally founded in 1968 as the Dublin Knights. The program has since expanded to cover the Tri-Valley and surrounding areas (Dublin, Pleasanton, Castro Valley, Livermore, Danville, and San Ramon). The Falcons are part of a very competitive Delta Youth Football League. The Delta League has been known to have players in their program advance to play competitive football in college and the NFL.
