Design entrepreneur and game developer Rhinopop has released a touchscreen game for Google’s Android platform. In this game the player is challenged to 'smack' GOP elephants off a U.S. map before they turn states red, thus preventing a right-wing takeover of the country. With an interface that looks like an election map in time-lapse, the score is based on actual electoral votes of each state which allows for strategic gameplay.
The menu offers a variety of “attack modes” which determine the level of difficulty. In the advanced modes the user is also pitted against tea pots that have a genie-like Sarah Palin coming out of their spouts – and smash them. But there are also donkeys popping up, which hee-haw when you hit them.
"I've added the donkeys so it wouldn't become a game where you blindly hit anything that moves", explains Rhinehart Popp, the designer behind the game. The game idea has sprung out of Popp's frustration with right-wing "propaganda, targeted misinformation and the spreading of hate and blatant lies" so he decided to create an outlet for "us non-gun-owning liberals" to vent their anger whilst having some fun with it.
Additional features include a memorized high score of individual players so you can beat your own score or that of others.
