Give me 2 minutes a day - and I'll give you health. Audacious? Perhaps. The creators of HealthCrowd Daily Mission believe that with just minutes a day, anyone can get on a path towards being healthier, living longer and feeling better about themselves. Even better, it's fun, easy and free!

By making healthy behaviors fun and achievable, our goal is that our users will reap health benefits as a side effect of engaging with Daily Mission

HealthCrowd has just launched Daily Mission, a free health application that delivers users a simple, actionable mission every day and helps them keep track of how they and their friends are doing. It's a healthy diversion from typical day's routine. Missions are designed such that anyone can play along and achieve them.

HealthCrowd's Daily Mission is based on ample evidence that small, healthy, daily actions can bring about long-term change. Since healthy behaviors can be influenced by our environments, Daily Mission has positive side effects in the home, office and among peer groups.

With US obesity rates at greater than 25% in 33 states, 1 in 10 Americans suffering from depression, we’re in danger of raising the first generation of Americans who may live sicker and die younger than the generation before them. Old-school approaches for encouraging healthy behaviors don't always work because they tend to be overwhelming. Compare "eat 3 servings of vegetable every day" with "eat a green vegetable today and tell everyone what it was!" The brain works better with small challenges instead of big ones.

How It Works

Anyone can sign up for Daily Mission. Users can also opt to use their Facebook login. Every day, a short e-mail with Today's Mission will get sent to their inbox. After completing a mission, users report back and watch their winning streak grow! Users can also enjoy perusing how others completed their mission. Daily Mission is a great picker-upper in this gloom economy as well. After all, health is not just about the body, but the mind and spirit as well.

"By making healthy behaviors fun and achievable, our goal is that our users will reap health benefits as a side effect of engaging with Daily Mission," said HealthCrowd co-founder, Neng Bing Doh.

Healthcare Reform and Wellness Programs

Healthcare reform has given corporate wellness programs a boost. However, often only the largest of corporations offer their employees a wellness program. What about those who work for themselves or at small and medium sized businesses around the country? They can now use Daily Mission as part of their personal wellness program. At the end of the day, the only person anyone can really count on to actively manage their health is themself.
