WiTech, a leading solutions and services company active in the Next Generation Networks and Services scenario, today announced that it has established a partnership with Friendly Technologies (http://www.friendly-tech.com), a leading software company developing automatic installation and maintenance solutions.
WiTech will leverage the FriendlyTR69 Device Management Suite as a key solution component in the Next-Gen OSS/BSS area, extending their offering and integrating it with the WiTech WROP and WiTech TelcoGIS platforms.
The FriendlyTR69 Device Management Suite, based on the widely supported TR-069 standard from the Broadband Forum, is a comprehensive, fully featured, robust solution aimed at Carriers/xSPs seeking to automate the deployment and support of data, voice and video services. It enables provisioning, managing and supporting a variety of CPEs (such as modem/routers, IPTV-STBs, ATAs/IADs, IP-phones, storage devices, media centers, femtocells, cameras, etc.) for DSL, WiMAX, FTTH, and cable networks. Vendor-independent and with a “zero-touch provisioning” approach, the solution allows dramatically reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of acquiring and supporting non-technical users.
WiTech WROP is the first commercial open source, vendor-independent access and service management platform tailored to support fast moving Telco operators and service providers deploying and managing wireless (e.g., HiperLAN, WiFi Hot Spot, Fixed & Mobile WiMAX) and wired (e.g., xDSL, Fiber Optic) broadband access networks in a multi-technology/service scenario. The platform implements advanced features for network access control, subscriber management, service definition and provisioning, and direct and indirect sales channel management. The platform is equipped with a powerful real-time rating engine for the billing of prepaid and postpaid accounts, as well as supporting the implementation of sophisticated, yet easy to define and maintain service plans. WiTech TelcoGIS is a vertical geographical information system equipped with a readily available application for end-customer coverage check and enables the development of a variety of effective operation support applications.
“We selected Friendly Technologies after an extensive market investigation and we believe their TR69 Device Management Suite is a perfect complement for our product portfolio, providing the best return on investment for remote CPE management” said Andrea Calcagno, Chief Executive Officer at WiTech.
“We found WiTech to be a dedicated group of professionals with a high quality complementary product, and we look forward to long term cooperation” said Elan Migdal, Chief Executive Officer at Friendly Technologies.
