Last week, Audio Affair enters its 4th year as a hi-fi retailer. The HQ at the heart Birmingham received a surprise visit from The Gadget Show team (8pm, Mondays at channel FIVE), presenters of the show Jason & Ortis joined the celebration in style. Unable to review the full details of the filming involved at this stage, however, it will be aired on 6th December 2010.
Audio Affair focuses on higher quality specialist audio visual equipment, designed to offer the best possible sound quality at home. Audio Affair is one of the few companies still offering "real" hi-fi. MD Alex Field says “we’ve never been busier. There is a growing demand for higher quality home stereo systems and high end iPod and mp3 player music systems. People have grown tired of cheaper products and want to experience something closer to sound of live music in their living room”.

Although Audio Affair sells high end equipment, they also offer better quality cd/mp3 micro systems, iPod music systems and iPod docks from the likes of Fatman and Yamaha, through to mid end brands like NAD Electronics, all the way up to "higher end" hi-fi brands like SME, Chord Electronics and Focal JM Labs. They also sell 5.1 and 2.1 home cinema systems and home theatre speakers at a variety of budgets. In addition, it isn’t just equipment – you can pick up all the accessories you need in store too – HDMI cables, audio cables, stands, AV furniture, 24v dc power supplies and practically anything else you’d need.
Audio Affair also offers multi room systems and custom installations, allowing you to spread your music and listening pleasure into several rooms. This category includes outdoor sound systems, wireless music systems, wireless home theater systems, and wireless subwoofers. Their installation service works on a case-by-case basis, working direct with you, the property developer and/or builder to fit your perfect system seamlessly.
Vinyl and turntable sales are also hot despite the popularity of cutting edge music servers and multi-room systems. Alex says “we’ve found the average vinyl customer is getting younger as tech savvy customers in their 20s and 30s have discovered the warm sound of vinyl”. Audio Affair sells budget decks from Pro-Ject, all the way up to high-end models from Clearaudio and SME.
In addition to their store and website, Audio Affair are hot on the AV forums, What Hi-Fi Forums and are part of a rapidly growing social network, allowing you to keep track of products and news on Facebook and be in with a chance of winning weekly gadget competitions on Twitter.
