(PRWEB) November 1, 2010
Resorts of Ontario (http://www.resortsofontario.com), an association representing nearly 100 Ontario resort hotels, lodges, cottage resorts and country inns, is pleased to announce an exciting new Meetings Program that will effectively promote the unique facilities and amenities of the member resorts and inns that offer conference and meeting services in Ontario. The new Meetings Program will be launched this November 2010.
Resorts of Ontario came into being in 1942 as Ontario's leading association of vacation resort properties and inns. The association was formed by members of the province's resort industry who joined together as a co-operative force to promote, lobby and advocate on behalf of the resort sector of Ontario's tourism industry. Its mission is to serve, represent and further the collective interests by providing marketing, membership and advocacy services for the resorts, lodges and inns of Ontario's tourism industry. While resort marketing remains at the core of the organization, through the years Resorts of Ontario has changed with the times, taking the association on paths which facilitated growth for the resort industry. The new Meetings Program is the most recent in a long list of innovative marketing strategies that Resorts of Ontario offers to its many members.
"Ontario conference resorts have so much more to offer business and conference clients than a city hotel or conference centre. We have dozens of resorts and inns with the facilities and the expertise to host business and group conferences of any size and who are ready to work with business clients to ensure a successful company event. This is one of the reasons that we have decided to promote our member conference resorts with the Resorts of Ontario's new Meetings Program, states Barrie McAndrews, the Sales and Promotions Manager Resorts of Ontario. "The program will focus on the unique selling features that our resorts can offer business clients such as the option of golf tournaments, team building, affordability and convenience. As well, at an Ontario resort, conference delegates won't get distracted off site, away from the conference, as they might in a large urban venue."
The Resorts of Ontario web site features a Meetings and Events page with a facilities reference chart and direct links to participating conference resorts. A meeting locator form enables conference planners to search for the perfect conference resort property to suit their company's unique requirements is also located on this page. To further assist in the planning process, meeting planners can access a Request for Proposal form that can be faxed, mailed or completed online. "The RFP form feature was created to make conference planning quick and easy. Conference planners can narrow the search for their perfect venue or location with the customized search keys. Planners can identify a conference resort by preferred region, amenities and facilities, size of your group, space requirements. Through this process a list of potential property venues will be generated. And, with a click of a button, inquiries will be forwarded to the selected resorts," says McAndrews.
