New York, NY (PRWEB) November 1, 2010
Eli Wilner and Company, the frame sommelier, who has created over 10,000 masterpieces for the most prestigious art institutions in the world, is honored to have framed 15 of the 61 paintings for Sotheby’s Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sales, taking place November 2nd in New York.
This impressive auction will feature some of the finest examples of European masterworks from late 19th and early 20th century, including innovative Impressionist canvases by Monet, Pissarro and Renoir, vibrant landscapes by the German Expressionists, and powerful canvases from the final years of Picasso's career.
Eli Wilner and Company has been asked to provide frames for some of the most important lots in the sale, including the cover lot of the Evening Sale catalogue.
Amedeo Modigliani’s "Nu assis sur un divan" (La Belle Romaine), is considered the artist’s finest painting to appear on the market in years. The Replica frame by Eli Wilner & Company is shaped and painted with gilding and truly enhances the masterpiece.
Another painting framed by Eli Wilner and Company, Pablo Picasso’s "Homme et femme au bouquet", was painted the day after the artist’s 89th birthday in 1970. This painting is considered the grand finale of Picasso's long and extraordinary career. Although Picasso's late period was greatly misunderstood by the public at the time, these pictures are now prized for their immensely expressive power and visual impact.
Wilner’s replica of an 18th century Spanish frame, shaped, gilded and painted, with sgraffito design, truly transforms this work of art.
The Impressionist and Modern Art auction showcases works of exceptional provenance that are fresh to the market and presents the finest examples by artists greatly in demand by today's discerning collectors. These are some of the art world’s most important masterpieces that deserve the grace and precision that only an Eli Wilner & Company frame can provide.
