New Life Tanning Centers receives Small Business Giant Award by the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

New Life Tanning Centers recognized as Small Business Giant by the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Owner Carla Plazas received the award for outstanding business performance at the Chamber’s monthly Eye Opener Breakfast October 28.

The Small Business Giant Award is selected by a committee of volunteers of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. The decision is based not only on the success of the business, but also on the contributions made to the community by the company's owners and employees, job creation, economic value, and contributions to the overall quality of life.

New Life Tanning Centers is actively involved in the Columbus community. The business supports the Children's Miracle Network, West Central Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross, Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home, Columbus State University, Columbus GA Young Professionals, United Way, and many other public and private organizations through donations and volunteer work each year.

New Life Tanning Centers is designated one of the Nation's Top 250 Tanning Salons by national trade publication LOOKING FIT Magazine. In 2010, New Life was voted “Favorite Tanning Center” in the Readers’ Choice Awards sponsored by local newspaper, The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.

New Life Tanning Centers are Columbus' premiere tanning salons. New Life was established in 1986 as a Fitness Center. A few years later, the company installed the first tanning beds in the city. The business has grown significantly, and 24 years later, it offers a wide variety of services, including sensor-controlled tanning systems, sunless tanning, teeth whitening and an infrared weight-loss treatment, 31 units in all and two locations.
