Pittsburgh-based InventHelp® attempts to submit clients' inventions to companies for review.

InventHelp®, America’s largest inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Minnesota, has designed a key that could enable individuals with manual weakness to remove and replace a vehicle gas cap easily. This invention is patented.

The “TurnKey” accessory would feature a notch that could grip the ridge of most gas caps, which would provide enough leverage to ease the loosening and tightening of the cap. This feature would help to eliminate strain, frustration and the need for assistance. The TurnKey would be ideal for seniors and users with manual disabilities, such as arthritis.

The TurnKey would consist of a rigid-plastic key that would feature a horizontal, rubberized handle on one end, and the other end would feature a squared notch in its center. To loosen a gas cap, the user would place the notch over the ridge of the gas cap, then turn the key handle. To tighten the cap, the user would repeat the action, but turn the key in the opposite direction. The key would be small enough to be stored in a convenient area of the vehicle interior. TurnKey would be producible in a variety of different sizes and colors.

InventHelp® is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor. For more information, telephone Dept. 09-RLN-332 at (800) 851-6030.
