GreenBinder presents a range of environmentally helpful products from DORMA GLAS

GreenBinder, a new catalog from DORMA GLAS, presents a complete selection of the company’s products, many of which are notably green in manufacture and application. DORMA GLAS is a leading designer and manufacturer of systems and accessories for tempered glass entrances and office fronts.

DORMA GLAS is committed to products and production practices that reduce waste, cut emissions, and conserve natural resources. Environmentally sound practices of this kind make the company more efficient and benefit architects, designers, facility owners, and communities.

GreenBinder is an appropriate presentation for the company’s single-page profiles of its product lines. DORMA GLAS products impact the environment positively in many ways, some of which are reflected in helping projects achieve points toward LEED certification. These include boosting energy conservation by eliminating the need for artificial lighting (EA Credit 1.1); allowing external views to penetrate farther into internal spaces (EA Credit 8.2); minimizing the needs for adhesives, sealants, paints, or coatings on site (EQ Credits 4.1 and 4.2); and creating zones that have their own thermal control (EQ Credit 6.2). Altogether, the catalog’s LEED Quick Reference Guide shows 13 categories in which DORMA GLAS systems can help projects qualify for LEED points.

GreenBinder presents the company’s products in a format of low environmental impact. The binder is made from 100 percent post-recycled content waste. The tabs are fashioned of post-consumer fibers processed from recycled materials. The inserts are printed on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This new catalog weighs eight pounds less than the previous versions, which is an 80 percent reduction in paper usage. GreenBinder is supported by a comprehensive website which presents the information in formats that consume very few resources in production and presentation.
