Our vendors scour the country in the off-season and pick up millions of dollars worth of ski and snowboard equipment and clothing at pennies on the dollar, then they pass the savings right through to our SnowJam Expo customers.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 9, 2010
Snowboarders and skiers in Las Vegas will again kick off the winter season in their traditional way on November 19-21 at Cashman Center. That’s when the annual SnowJam Ski and Snowboard Expo takes place, offering free and discounted lift tickets worth hundreds of dollars in exchange for a $15 SnowJam admission ticket.
“Last winter was a fantastic season,” said Ron Parent, producer of SnowJam. “That means a lot of new skiers and snowboarders will be at SnowJam to look at equipment and talk to resorts. It also means those who were already enthusiasts will be at the show to replace the gear they wore out last year.”
SnowJam exhibitors include resorts throughout the Western U.S. such as Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resorts (Bear Mountain and Snow Summit), Mountain High, Brian Head, and numerous destinations at Lake Tahoe, Utah, Colorado and even Canada. Many resorts offer “show specials” on their lift tickets and season passes.
Skiers and snowboarders in Las Vegas have a local secret for enjoying their sport: Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort, just a 45-minute drive from downtown. Also known as Lee Canyon, Mount Charleston and Ski Vegas, the resort appeals to people in Sin City who work all night and can play all day. SnowJam will offer a midweek Ski Vegas lift ticket discount to members of its “Preferred Card” club.
In fact, anyone buying a Las Vegas SnowJam admission ticket can automatically become a Preferred Card member at no additional charge. The club provides deals and discounts throughout the season, including a free anytime lift ticket to Snow Valley Resort near Big Bear, California, a 33% discount on midweek Brian Head lift tickets, a rare 2-for-1 offer from Mammoth Mountain, and special lodging deals from several resorts in the Western states and Canada.
The Las Vegas SnowJam Ski and Snowboard Expo has built its reputation as a “must-attend” event for skiers and snowboarders. The most frequently cited reason is that several vendors literally set up shop inside the show with huge inventories of new skis and snowboards – both with and without bindings, which can be purchased separately at the show – as well as boots for both skiing and snowboarding and outerwear such as jackets, pants and gloves. These vendors are hoping to leave the show empty-handed, so they offer significant discounts on the equipment, clothing and accessories, as much as 70% off the original retail prices of the items. Mark-downs of 25-25% are commonplace.
“Our vendors spend the entire off-season scouring the marketplace for product,” notes Parent. “They are first in line to grab excess post-season inventory from the manufacturers. And when weaker stores go out of business, they snap up the gear at pennies on the dollar and pass those savings through to our SnowJam customers.”
Besides deals on lift tickets and equipment, SnowJam attendees are treated to fashion shows and other entertainment several times each day, including a half-pipe vert ramp exhibition by champion BMX riders. Add in free stickers and frequent prize giveaways, and the weekend becomes a high-energy kickoff party that never fails to get skiers, snowboarders and their friends and families excited about the season that’s about to begin.
