Winner from Denton, Texas, Receives a Pair of Tickets to Series Game 4 and Winner from Pleasanton, Calif., Receives $5,000 Check

When two “Cinderella” baseball teams battled it out in Arlington, Texas, and San Francisco, Calif., it was clear that history would be made. The exciting series ignited a spirit of regional pride in everyone who lived in the Northern California and Dallas areas. Therefore, it’s only fitting that Cost Plus World Market (, based in the Bay Area, honored this great spirit by awarding the two winners of its Baseball’s Big Game Sweepstakes with prizes to celebrate their regional baseball teams.

When Jane Welborn of Denton, Texas, found out that she was one of the winners of Cost Plus World Market’s Baseball’s Big Game Sweepstakes, she fulfilled her husband Johnny’s dream to go to baseball’s ultimate championship game. The Welborns are avid baseball fans (even naming their son after a former player of their beloved Arlington baseball team) so they were thrilled to win two tickets to Game 4 along with a chauffeured limousine ride to and from the game, and a $1,000 World Market gift card. Jane states, “We will treasure the memories of our World Series experience for the rest of our lives. For my baseball-loving husband to see his Rangers at the World Series, and from such an incredible vantage point, our seats were right over the Rangers’ dugout, was unforgettable.” Jane continues, “And our experience isn’t over since we get to do some serious shopping using our $1,000 World Market gift card!”

Nora Perez of Pleasanton, Calif., entered the Sweepstakes hoping to see her favorite team win it all in Game 6 of the series (the original prize was for Game 6 tickets). As the second winner of Cost Plus World Market’s Baseball’s Big Game Sweepstakes, Nora still gets to celebrate her team’s victory. Nora states, “It’s actually a win-win since the San Francisco Giants won the World Series in Game 5, and I still win a great prize package.” Because Game 6 was cancelled, Nora receives a $5,000 check (the cash equivalent of the two tickets), a $1,000 Cost Plus World Market Gift Card, and a chauffeured limousine ride to the victory celebration parade. Nora continues, “It was a great World Series, one that Rangers and Giants fans could be proud of. I’m excited to celebrate the first ever world championship win for our San Francisco Giants!”
