Most recently, Mr. Sockel was Senior Vice President, Sales and Corporate Development at Connecture, Inc., a leading provider of sales automation solutions to the health insurance industry. At Connecture, he worked with over 80 health insurance plans, including 11 of the 20 largest national carriers and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, as well as many regional health insurance plans. With Connecture as a venture-backed private company, Mr. Sockel also worked with several of the most successful venture capital firms in the country. Throughout his 10 years at Connecture, Mr. Sockel held a variety of business development and operational executive positions, helping grow the company into the largest and most successful software provider in its market. Prior to co-founding Connecture in 1999, he was a senior manager with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s health care consulting practice in both the Chicago and Washington, DC offices. Throughout his six years with CGEY, he improved the strategic and operational performance of over 30 domestic and international healthcare companies. He began his career in healthcare working for the Lewin Group, a consulting firm serving the public and private sectors.
