The CollegeBound Network (CBN) announced that it has named Greg O’Brien as the company’s chief executive officer. O’Brien has served as chief financial officer for CBN, a leading provider of interactive recruitment marketing services to higher education, since November 2008. He will continue to oversee the financial aspects of the company as well as to manage CBN’s Enrollment Management products and services, while becoming more active in executive-level decisions.
“I’m thrilled to be playing a more integral role at CBN, as well as within the higher education industry,” says O’Brien, who is also on the board of the Career College Association’s Political Action Committee, and a founding member of the DMA’s Education Marketing Council. “Of greatest importance to me is being part of the evolution of the K-12 and postsecondary systems to match America’s changing workforce needs. This will require unprecedented, collective efforts among educators, lawmakers, private and public funding, and both non-profit and for-profit parties.”
O’Brien succeeds the founder and former CEO Luciano Rammairone, who now assumes the title of Chairman and President. “Greg has all of the right attributes to accelerate the growth of CBN,” says Rammairone. “His impressive track record and industry reputation, not to mention his passion for higher education marketing, will lead CBN into the next decade.”
Prior to joining CBN, O’Brien spent 10 years in investment banking, focusing on mergers and acquisitions across the education and media industries. He managed the sale of Boston University’s Corporate Education Center to TechSkills and OCA Ventures, and spent several years as an officer with The College Network, a leading publisher of test preparation materials and provider of enrollment management services to higher education. Greg holds a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University and an MBA from New York University.
