At The Avalon Hotel in Erie, we believe in the time tested and accepted philosophy that our customers satisfaction is the key to success in today's competitive hotel industry. It is our mission, as an hotelier, to provide the customer satisfaction that keeps the guests returning to our hotel.

As General Manager of the Avalon Stefanie Allen states, "our primary vision is to be the best hotel in Erie we believe that turning our focus on staff with positive motivation and instilling a service culture will reflect immediately on our guests." She goes on to say, "with a customer satisfaction based corporate mission, along with our location and conference facility we have set our target as being the number one hotel in Erie."

About the Avalon: Once known as the Lawrence Hotel, this location became famous to the area when presidential hopeful Massachusetts Senator John F. Kennedy stayed in September of 1960. His purpose to visit this historical downtown location was to perform a speech at the intersections of 10th and Peach where thousands of locals and visitors attended. Eventually the Lawrence Hotel was torn down and the location site was rebuilt as a Hilton.

The third largest city in Pennsylvania. Within a few blocks you can enjoy historic museums, see an off Broadway show, take a stroll along Erie's breathtaking bay front or experience Erie's night life. If sports is your forte the Erie Civic Center, home of the Erie Otter's, and Erie Bayhawk's or Jerry Uht Park home of the Erie SeaWolves for a baseball game are just walking distance from the hotel.

Located near Presque Isle State Park a 3,200-acre sandy peninsula that arches into Lake Erie, provided many recreational activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling and in-line skating. Great for family or individual activities. Presque Isle State Park is a perfect taste of the beach and nature without extensive travel.

No other facility within a 100 mile radius combines the elegance and size of the Avalon's Presque Isle Ballroom. The newly remodeled ballroom has the capacity to serve 600 people for a sit down dinner or 1000 people for a reception. It conveniently divides into three smaller rooms to accommodate many different sized groups in a variety of configurations for every imaginable business or social event.
