The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) will celebrate National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) during the week of November 8-12. NDLW is an annual initiative that generates greater awareness and appreciation for distance learning within the areas of pre-k through 12 education, higher and continuing education, home schooling, as well as business, corporate, military, government and telehealth markets.
Drexel University Online will hold an awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 9, at 9a.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall South (32nd and Chestnut Streets, Philadelphia), to recognize outstanding Drexel faculty. This annual event will recognize those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of distance or online learning. “Drexel University Online is proud to honor our outstanding faculty who teach online,” said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, academic director, Drexel University Online. “Their innovative teaching methods and dedication to online learning keep students engaged and connected.”

About 4.6 million students are currently taking at least one class online. of those 4.6 million, over 200,000 K-12 students are enrolled in full-time online schools and over 2 million K-12 students are enrolled in an online course. During the week of November 8 through12, schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies across the country will be showcasing their online programs.
