Fitness beverage company signs marketing deal with retail chain for national distribution

WheyUP, the Original Protein Drink with Energy, continued its aggressive distribution campaign by signing a deal with Vitamin World, which owns and operates more than 450 retail stores throughout the United States. As part of this agreement, WheyUP will be sold at 25 Vitamin World retail stores in select markets throughout the country during a three-month "test" period.

"Part of our distribution strategy is to increase the number of retail locations where WheyUP is sold, so we're pleased to be partnering with Vitamin World," said WheyUP's inventor and co-founder Erik Rothchild, a Chandler businessman. "Vitamin World is a true heavyweight in the nutritional supplement industry."

Vitamin World is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NBTY, which manufactures and sells its products under the Vitamin World, Holland & Barrett, and Puritans Pride labels. The first Vitamin World store opened its doors in 1976. Vitamin World also manufactures a complete lineup of vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other nutritional supplements in its own state-of-the-art facility.

WheyUP represents a breakthrough in the fitness drink market. It combines 20 grams of whey protein with an energy formula in a sugar-free, non-carbonated beverage. WheyUP is sold in ready-to-drink 16-ounce plastic bottles and 12 packs in its popular Grape Punch flavor.

The fitness industry recommends consuming a minimum of 20g of whey protein prior to working out. Many individuals are also seeking a boost of energy - whether it's coffee, an energy drink or caffeine pills - to intensify their workout. With WheyUP, getting energized and adding healthy protein to a diet has never been easier.

WheyUP is targeted toward health-conscience individuals and fitness enthusiasts. It is ideal for fat-loss programs, exercise programs, weight-training programs, athletic activities, and as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.

"With 20 grams of protein, zero fat and only 1 gram of carbs, WheyUP is the perfect drink for people on carb-conscience diets," Rothchild said. "It's a great way to add protein to your diet and energy to your day."
