Takis Chondrogiannis Named Senior Sales Manager of Specialty Markets for Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

Takis Chondrogiannis has been named senior sales manager of specialty markets for Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. A 20-year veteran of hospitality sales, Chondrogiannis is responsible for “specialty markets” including SMERF segments (social, military, education, religious and fraternal), and government, sports, hobby-related, diversity, ethnic, dance, multi-level marketing, and other key association programs.

Takis Chondrogiannis has been named senior sales manager, specialty markets for Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. A 20-year veteran of hospitality sales, Chondrogiannis joins the Hilton Worldwide family of brands having most recently served as national accounts director for Universal Orlando Resort.

In his new expanded role, Chondrogiannis is responsible for “specialty markets” including SMERF segments (social, military, education, religious and fraternal), and government, sports, hobby-related, diversity, ethnic, dance, multi-level marketing, and other key association programs.

This newly created position within the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek sales team is a testament to the commitment to these specialty markets that exists at both Orlando hotels. The sales team has taken this opportunity to re-launch programs aimed at these specialty markets, such as uniquely tailored pricing, new value-oriented menus, flexible contract terms and special service programs.

Combined, the two hotels offer a total of 42 meeting rooms. The attached convention center features 150,000 square feet of combined meeting space. Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek offers 122,000 square feet of function space, including the 36,000-square-foot Bonnet Creek Ballroom and 27,300-square-foot Floridian Ballroom. Waldorf Astoria Orlando offers 28,000 square feet of exclusive meeting space, including the 8,100-square-foot Grand Ballroom and a 25,000-square-foot signature "island" for outdoor functions.

Prior to joining Hilton Worldwide, Chondrogiannis held sales positions for Universal Orlando Resort, The Peabody Hotel Group, and Renaissance Orlando/Marriott Hotels and Resorts. He began his career in the hospitality industry after graduating from University of Central Florida in 1987. In addition to his professional experience, Chondrogiannis is active in National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners, Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Meeting Professionals International, and Religious Conference Management Association. He was voted one of the area’s Top 10 salespeople by the readers of Orlando Business Journal, and was twice named “salesperson of the year” by the Peabody Hotel Group.

Takis currently resides in Orlando with his wife Linda and his son Chris.
