According to the Smith Leonard’s October issue of Furniture Insights, a report that detailed an August 2010 survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors, the growth in new orders continued to slow in August. In fact, new orders in August 2010 were only 1 percent higher than orders that same month a year prior. The backlogs, meaning the number of orders that exceeded the number of shipments, or orders in the queue, is a prevalent statistic in this report that ITP keeps an eye on. “This is the statistic that really stands out to us, because with the solutions we provide, the number of backlogs can be minimized,” explained Filip.
“A problem that occurs within a lot of these organizations is the amount of time spent on running numerous reports, or worse, manually generating information on a specific aspect of business. For instance, if one of these manufacturers wanted to determine how much overtime was paid to employees during a specific month for all ten locations, they would have to run ten separate reports.
