At this premiere conference, being held on Nov. 30, at the Doubletree Hotel Crystal City-National Airport, in Arlington, Va., end users and RFID experts will explain the benefits of using RFID technology in the defense industry.

RFID Journal announced today the final agenda for its first RFID in Defense conference and exhibition. This event will focus on how the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and its suppliers are employing radio frequency identification to cut costs, streamline processes and improve operations.

"This is the debut of our RFID in Defense conference, and we are pleased that we have been able to attract speakers who have hands-on experience using RFID to achieve real operational benefits," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "This is an opportunity for defense companies to hear how the technology is being used today, and how they can benefit from employing it."

The keynote session, entitled "DOD's End-to-End Supply Chain Management Strategy," will be presented by Paul Peters, the Department of Defense's deputy assistant of defense for supply chain integration [DASD (SCI)]. Peters will provide an overview of the DOD's use of RFID in its supply chain and operations, including how the agency is utilizing RFID and other automatic-identification technologies to enable business-process efficiencies and enhanced asset visibility.
