East Coast Beer Co. heads food drive in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

In honor of the spirit of giving East Coast Beer Co., parent company of Beach Haus® Classic American Pilsner, is heading a food drive beginning November 1, 2010 and ending December 31, 2010 in order to help the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties supply and distribute food to the needy families throughout the counties. Anyone can donate food to any of the three collection sites that East Coast Beer Co. will be sponsoring, which include A&P Liquors at 1201 Richmond Avenue on Route 35 South in Point Pleasant Beach, Gerards Wine & Spirits at 2310 Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant and the Wine World at 1930 Route 88 in Brick. They will also be collecting items at all of their beer tastings. For a complete, up-to-date listing of their tastings, you can follow them on Facebook, Beach Haus Beer.

“We want to help the many families in need have a good holiday season,” said Brian Ciriaco, co-founder of East Coast Beer Co. “Last year more than 127,000 people were in need of emergency food and two out of every five people who received emergency food were children; a sad, but true fact. Being able to help the FoodBank combat hunger is something that we are committed to and look forward to growing our support with our organization over the next few years.”

Additional locations may be announced throughout the holiday season and can be found on East Coast Beer Co.’s website ( and on their Facebook for Beach Haus Beer.

Items most in need for the FoodBank include nonperishable items such as ready-to-eat canned meals, canned meat, canned tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, canned beans, hot and cold cereals, canned juices and nonperishable milk. Perishable items such as turkey, hot dogs, poultry or dairy products are also needed, but should be dropped off at the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties on 3300 Route 66, Neptune, NJ 07753.

“We are very grateful to East Coast Beer Co. and its employees for taking the time and effort to collect food for those in need this holiday season,” said Ellen Koment, Media Coordinator for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. “Efforts like this enable the FoodBank to continue to distribute nutritious food to so many emergency feeding programs in our neighborhoods.”

East Coast Beer Co. recently introduced Beach Haus®, a refreshing Classic American Pilsner, reminiscent of the old German-American style of brewing.. The full-flavored, year round, pre-prohibition style Pilsner uses all-American ingredients, including Mt. Hood Hops, and is brewed to perfection reflecting a unique taste and style of the Jersey Shore.

For every $5 donated, the FoodBank can distribute $30 worth of food for needy families, so please remember the efforts of East Coast Beer Co., as well as all the organizations working to fight hunger this holiday season.
