CoreMedia, a leading web content management (WCM) company, today announced that its customer, SOS Kinderdorf, a German non-governmental social development organization that specializes in children's rights, was awarded a 2010 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development and a 2010 W³ Silver Award for creative excellence on the Web. The selection process for both awards was highly competitive. More than 2,000 sites from 45 countries in 96 industries entered the 14th Annual WebAward Competition for website development, in which entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology. The W³ Awards received over 3,000 entries and honored the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide for outstanding website, Web marketing, Web video and mobile apps.
To build the prized SOS Kinderdorf site, Aperto relied on CoreMedia's robust, flexible and easy-to-use WCM platform to manage and deliver all forms of digital content, including text, video, images, and complex multimedia to engage audiences across all digital channels. With a new and improved website, SOS Kinderdorf was able to increase their web traffic by 50 percent in the past year, which in turn led to a 25 percent increase in donations that helped support children in need.
