CoreMedia Customer and Partner, SOS Kinderdorf and Aperto, Recognized for Excellence in Web Development and Creativity with the 2010 WebAward and W³ Award

CoreMedia, a leading web content management (WCM) company, today announced that its customer, SOS Kinderdorf, a German non-governmental social development organization that specializes in children's rights, was awarded a 2010 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development and a 2010 W³ Silver Award for creative excellence on the Web. SOS Kinderdorf worked closely with Aperto, a German digital communications and creative agency, to develop and design the award-winning website based on CoreMedia's industry-leading WCM platform, CoreMedia CMS.

The selection process for both awards was highly competitive. More than 2,000 sites from 45 countries in 96 industries entered the 14th Annual WebAward Competition for website development, in which entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology. The W³ Awards received over 3,000 entries and honored the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide for outstanding website, Web marketing, Web video and mobile apps.

To build the prized SOS Kinderdorf site, Aperto relied on CoreMedia's robust, flexible and easy-to-use WCM platform to manage and deliver all forms of digital content, including text, video, images, and complex multimedia to engage audiences across all digital channels. With a new and improved website, SOS Kinderdorf was able to increase their web traffic by 50 percent in the past year, which in turn led to a 25 percent increase in donations that helped support children in need.

"It's such an honor to have our work with SOS Kinderdorf recognized by both WebAwards and W³. When we were looking for a WCM platform for the project, we wanted to ensure that it would be able to grow and adapt with our clients' needs over time and incorporate the latest technology and social media trends," stated Stephan Haagen, Managing Director, Aperto. "CoreMedia allowed us to master the complexity of WCM and create a first class website that creates a highly dynamic and engaging experience for visitors to the SOS Kinderdorf site."

"We are thrilled to have both SOS Kinderdorf and Aperto recognized by these prestigious industry organizations for their outstanding work," said Glenn Conradt, Vice President, Global Marketing, CoreMedia. "SOS Kinderdorf's website is an integral part of their efforts to raise awareness and engage audiences across all types of communications channels for the betterment of children's rights, and we are proud to be a part of that."
