Smart, Scrappy, Resourceful: Executive Search Alliance Stronger Than Ever

Despite global economic challenges, IRC Global Executive Search Partners (IRC) celebrated continuing worldwide expansion at its 2010 annual meeting in Copenhagen.

“We’ve faced a couple of the most challenging years in the history of the executive search business, with unprecedented cutbacks, unemployment and business consolidations," says Sylvia MacArthur, president of the Executive Board of IRC Global Executive Search Partners (IRC). “Many large global search firms have cut their staffs dramatically, have exited from some markets altogether and many, many independents have ceased to exist. Despite these sometimes overwhelming challenges, IRC Global Executive Search Partner firms have survived, and the alliance as a whole has grown and is stronger than ever.”

Continuing Global Expansion
Successfully meeting IRC’s strict criteria, these new member firms were welcomed into IRC’s global network:

  • Lisberg Executive Search (IRC Denmark)
  • Hagoorts & Partner (IRC Netherlands)
  • VMS France (IRC France)
  • Support Partners (IRC Russia)
  • Swinburn & Partners (IRC Hungary)
  • Beckett McLaughlin International (IRC USA – Washington DC)
  • The Ropella Group (IRC USA – Pensacola)
  • Saenger Associates (IRC USA - Los Angeles)

Keeping World-Class Company
Local Danish media were happy to be invited to interview IRC’s world-class speakers: Michael Wareing, who was International Chief Executive of KPMG from 2005 until he retired in September 2009, having previously been Chief Executive of KPMG’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region; and Jesper Elling, one of Europe’s top management coaches and consultant. He has worked with CEOs and leadership teams from global companies such as Deloitte, Dun&Bradstreet, Carlsberg, Pan Nordic Logistics, and Pfizer.
“Now, more than ever, is the time for IRC to develop and solidify client relationships,” comments Ms. MacArthur. “Seizing opportunities to learn from global leaders such as Michael and Jesper accelerates IRC’s climb to the pinnacle of superlative client service in every market, worldwide.”

Co-operative Planning and Sharing is Key
Strategic planning in winning assignments and promoting the business is key to IRC’s continued global success. As Ms. MacArthur explains: “How did we survive where others failed? We’re smart, we’re scrappy, we’re resourceful, we’re globally connected and locally committed! This puts us in a very positive position for the future.”

IRC member firms continuously share successful approaches and tactics, and best practices applied to local businesses: “It is this co-operative sharing of effective local approaches, and updating best practices, applied across the network, which puts IRC into ‘global boutique’ status, and provides the level of seamless delivery and personalized, elite service that our global clients have come to expect,” asserts Ms. MacArthur.
