Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. a national franchise company and leading provider of water, fire and mold damage cleanup and restoration services for residential and commercial properties, has announced the deadline for its $10,000 student video contest in the state of Florida. The video submissions are due on Friday, November 19 for The Fire Safety Project. This contest was designed to draw awareness to the importance of fire safety and to recognize the life-saving efforts of fire professionals throughout the state.

The video contest started on September 1, 2010 to coincide with the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) annual "Fire Safety Week" in October. The contest serves as a means to help deliver NFPA's message about injuries and deaths caused by fire and the organization's awareness and education campaign.

Florida students currently enrolled in public or private educational institutions - K-12 and colleges and universities - are encouraged to enter the contest. To be eligible to win, entrants must produce a "Public Service Announcement" (PSA) video on the importance of fire safety. The winner will be determined by popular vote on The Fire Safety Project YouTube Channel. The student with the winning video will receive $10,000 for their school. In addition, the fire department that serves that school will receive a $2,500 donation.

To enter, prospective contestants must fill out a registration form by going to http://www.thefiresafetyproject.com. The rules for the contest are posted on the website.

According to company officials, the winning school and fire department will be announced in early December and representatives from Paul Davis will present the check donations in January 2011. For more information about the contest and how to enter, visit http://www.thefiresafetyproject.com.
