As an agency, it's important to me that we continue to look at what the sector requires, not what it has done traditionally - which is why we have also taken app development resource in house, further strengthening the overall offering.

PR, Search and Social Media Agency Punch Communications has opened an office in Lymington, on the south coast of England, which follows the opening of a London office, which was itself opened to complement the business main premises in the Midlands earlier this year.

With a team that has now reached seventeen people that are split across the three offices, the business has grown dramatically in terms of headcount over the last eighteen months. Moreover, the business' first hire took place in September 2007, underscoring the overall rate of growth, despite the prevailing economic conditions during much of that period.

Punch started life as a PR company and, as with many other agencies, diversified into Social Media, albeit ahead of the majority of the sector. However, the business has truly differentiated itself through the addition of a search engine marketing function, which is offered both on a pure stand-alone basis and on an integrated basis, alongside traditional PR, digital PR and social media.

Pete Goold, founder of Punch, commented:

"We regularly argue that an integrated approach to PR, Search and Social Media is actually the direction that the PR sector must head in. Therefore I strongly believe that despite these three services being offered separately - and particularly many still seeing search as a discipline that belongs in the world of web development - the integrated approach is more efficient and better able to meet client's needs.

"I believe that many more agencies would agree with this premise and indeed offer search if they had a better understanding of what it entails. Simply, many of those that set the agenda for the PR sector are PR traditionalists and thereby have yet to grasp the potential for and realization of the two disciplines being highly symbiotic. A PR campaign that integrates Search simply makes a PR budget work that much harder, thereby delivering a better ROI.

"As an agency, it's important to me that we continue to look at what the sector requires, not what it has done traditionally - which is why we have also taken app development resource in house, further strengthening the overall offering."

Punch works with a broad base of clients, from brands such as Sony Ericsson globally, to UK based start ups across a variety of sectors.
