Former Kleinschmidt Brothers Hunting & Fishing Lodge to Sell at Auction December 3

This property has not been available for public purchase since the early 1920s, so this auction presents an extremely rare opportunity for buyers.

Little Rock, AR (PRWEB) November 13, 2010

A piece of history – a community’s history and a family’s history – will be sold at auction December 3. Located in Deluce, Ark., just a few hundred yards from the White River National Wildlife Refuge, this 360-acre property has been in the same family for more than 90 years. A portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to Ducks Unlimited.

“If this acreage could talk, it would reveal fascinating stories including its use as a hunting getaway for members of the Chicago mob,” said Brad H. Wooley, CAI, auctioneer and president of United Country – Brad Wooley Auctioneers in Little Rock, Ark. “This property has not been available for public purchase since the early 1920s, so this auction presents an extremely rare opportunity for buyers.”

Rich in both history and future potential, the property, which operated as the Kleinschmidt Brothers Hunting & Fishing Lodge from the 1930s to the 1960s, has long been known for its year-round wildlife and superb waterfowl and deer hunting. The acreage is mostly wooded with much of the LaGrue Bayou running down its eastern and southern boundaries. A majority of the northeastern 80 acres is part of Whisky Lake, a shallow area of wetlands that provides outstanding fishing. The property offers prime hunting during the winter months, when 25 to 50 percent of the parcel becomes flooded timber as a result of the White River annually backing up into LaGrue Bayou.

The live auction will be held at the Stuttgart Country Club located at 2103 E. 22nd Street in Stuttgart, Ark., on Friday, December 3 at 11 a.m. The real estate will also be offered via online simulcast at http://www.proxibid.com/wooleyauctions. Property previews will be held November 20-21 and November 27-28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
