Long Island Economic Forecasts and 2011 Information Technology Industry Outlook to be Discussed at Annual AITP Technology Showcase Meeting

Featured Speakers Include Economists Gary Huth and Dr. Pearl Kamer

The Long Island Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) today announced the speaker lineup for its Annual Technology Showcase and Economic Forecast on Tuesday, November 16th.

At this meeting, economists and employment experts will discuss their views on the Long Island economy for 2011, and the expected impact on the information technology industry and related trends in employment. Speakers include:

  • Gary Huth, Principal Economist, New York State Dept. of Labor: "The Long Island Job Market - Opportunities and Challenges"
  • Dr. Pearl Kamer, Chief Economist, Long Island Association (LIA):

"Emerging from the National Recession - is the Recovery around the Corner?"

“As we reach the end of another difficult year for business on Long Island, the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is again hosting our Technology Showcase and Economic Outlook luncheon,” said Barbara Viola, president, AITP Long Island Chapter. “It’s an annual tradition at the Long Island Chapter of the AITP to feature economic experts who will offer their predictions on where the economy is headed in the coming year.”

Attendees can also meet with leading information technology companies and organizations who are exhibiting at the Showcase.
