Mobiata, creators some of the best-selling travel apps on the market, are honored to announce today that to celebrate the second anniversary of the best-selling FlightTrack application, they will donate 20% of profits from sales of their top sellers FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro to the “Mercy Medical Airlift” nonprofit. The organization provides medical transportation, both long-distance and urgent air travel, for patients and their families.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Wednesday, November 17, 2010 and ending at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 Mobiata will donate 20% of profits from sales of FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro, which are sold on the iTunes App Store, Android Market, BlackBerry App World and Palm App Catalog will go to this top-rated nonprofit which offers referral information on the full spectrum of charitable long-distance air medical transportation.

“It is my pleasure to honor our second anniversary, which happens to fall during the busiest travel season, by giving back to such a well-respected charity that uses flight as a means of helping those in need,” said Ben Kazez, president and founder of Mobiata. ”I am impressed with their mission and can think of no better way to mark our second year of travel app success.”

Ben Kazez created the FlightTrack travel application in November 2008 at the age of 22 and it was an immediate sensation, taking the top position in the iTunes App Store and deemed by the New York Times as simply “brilliant.” Since then, Mobiata has created a series of highly successful travel apps including FlightTrack Pro, FlightBoard, HotelPal, StayHIP, FareCompare and HomeAway. Mobiata apps have been downloaded over 1 million times.

“We are very pleased to be associated with Mobiata for their second anniversary and grateful for the help sales of FlightTrack and FlightTrack Pro will provide for families across the country,” said Gil McMillan, Director of Development of Mercy Medical Airlift. “This donation will certainly make this a happy holiday season for patients in need.”

FlightTrack ($4.99) is compatible with iPhone; iPad, Blackberry and Android phones. FlightTrack Pro ($9.99) is available for iPhone and iPad and Android users. Both offer the ability to import flight data from any airline with real time flight itinerary updates that allows users to post flight status information via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter.
