PlantCML®, an EADS North America company, today announced its plans to provide the U.S. Army’s Fort Lee, Virginia, with industry-leading emergency notification technology. Offering a comprehensive solution, PlantCML will supply this military installation with The Communicator!® NXT™ system for automated communications by landline, cell, email and SMS; and the NetNotify® application for distribution of critical alerts to all networked computers.

Home to four major commands and a PlantCML client since 2003, Fort Lee understands the importance of emergency notification technology and knows first-hand the many benefits of using it. To better satisfy the communications directives set forth by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, the base operations center has chosen to update its existing system to latest solution from PlantCML. This will enable Fort Lee officials to better realize Recommendation 3.6, which requires real-time event information to be shared quickly across commands, installations and components.

Fort Lee will implement The Communicator! NXT solution in the PlantCML ISO-certified and SAS 70 audited hosting centers. Through these geographically diverse, state-of-the-art facilities, application resiliency and data redundancy will assure round-the-clock readiness for rapid, accurate notification related to force protection, personnel accountability and emergency management missions. Because a hosted deployment requires no onsite hardware or telephone lines, Fort Lee will comply with Recommendation 4.4, directing installations to utilize existing resources while meeting their unique communications requirements.

“Following the tragic events at Fort Hood and the release of the final report, many military installations have looked to us to enhance their critical communications capabilities,” said Bob Freinberg, vice president and general manager for the PlantCML Notification Solutions and Services (NSS) division. “We are proud to assist these mission critical organizations in their efforts to protect their personnel, as well as the entire nation, and are honored Fort Lee continues to rely on us as its source for emergency notification.”

In addition to The Communicator! NXT solution, Fort Lee will employ the PlantCML NetNotify application for expedited critical communications. With its ability to instantly disseminate upwards of 50,000 audible and visible alerts to connected workstations, the NetNotify application drives secure and media-rich unified messaging across entire IP networks. Depending on the situation, these messages may include video, images, text, Adobe® Flash® files and other content. They also may be distributed to fully integrated outlets such as speaker systems, video surveillance, telephone systems (PBXs) and BlackBerry® smartphones, delivering a mass notification warning system (MNWS) and fulfilling Recommendation 4.4.

Utilized by hundreds of public and private organizations worldwide, PlantCML is the emergency notification provider of choice when communications demand the highest level of security. Having successfully completed rigorous testing, the company’s solutions have achieved numerous prominent accreditations and meet the requirements of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-021-01, among several others.
